The Kerastase Extentioniste range will help you achieve those #longhairgoals

We all have moments where we want to chop off our hair and then suddenly we want it long again… But it’s not that easy as you know. It can feel like a lifetime while you wait for your hair to grow - especially when things like split ends and dehydrated hair gets in the way.

But fear not, our holy grail hair brand Kerastase have you sorted on your long hair growing quest with their Resistance Extentioniste range. Alright, it’s not some miracle potion that will suddenly get you Rapunzel results - sorry but there's not such thing - but what it will do is assist in rebuilding your hair from within and strengthening it so it can keep growing without breakages.

If you want learn exactly how it works and if it’s right for you, keep reading as we break down Kerastase Resistance Extentioniste range.

What’s in the Kerastase Extentioniste range?

So for the absolute best results, you’ll want to be using the full 4-step ‘hair training’ program. The regime includes a shampoo, conditioner, masque and serum.

The 4 product lineup is actually a part of a larger Extentionise Protocole training program which also include in-salon visits - a quick Google search can help if you want to try the larger program. But we’re pretty impressed with the products we’ve been using at home anyway…

What is it actually doing to your hair to help it grow?

Well, straight up, the Resistance Extentioniste range’s calling card is its potent blend of amino acids - Creatine R technology acts to repair the hair fibre while Taurine acts to protect the hair fibre. Along with Ceramide, which smooths and softens your hair, all the ingredients have purposely been put together to create the ultimate repair and recovery solution for our locks. Remember, it's about keeping your hair strong so it can keep growing.

How do you use the products?

The whole shampoo and conditioner thing may seem straightforward - we do it at least 3-4 times a week - how hard can it be, right? Well, we’ve done some research and as a part of the program, you should be double washing your hair with the shampoo. There are a tonne of benefits to double washing - we’ll get into that another time - but in the case of the Resistance Extentioniste range, it acts to invigorate the scalp and promote healthy hair growth.

So lather the Bain Extentioniste up, rinse like you usually do then repeat - but this time really massage it into your scalp and leave it for two minutes before washing it out. Apply a small amount of the Fondant Extentioniste to wet hair and work it through from your mid-length to ends and leave for another 2-3 minutes before rinsing.

As for the masque, some people have been using the Masque Extentioniste in place of conditioner but we want the most out of the training program so why not just add this step 2-3 times a week after your hair wash anyway? The key is that a lot goes a long way with this light mask so all you need to start with is a 50 cent piece worth of product to massage into wet hair, and add a little more as you need. Leave it for 5-10 minutes then rinse away!

The final step and possibly our new favourite product is the Serum Extentioniste, which you massage directly into your scalp. Use 2 pipettes for fine hair and 4 pipettes thicker hair directly onto your scalp - just follow your hairline and apply at the roots of your hair and scalp - then use your fingertips to massage and evenly distribute.

Follow the above and you’ll reach your #longhairgoals in no time.

What are some things I can do to help the growth?

You’re going to hate us for saying this but one way to help this routine is: don’t get a haircut. For at least 12 weeks anyway… We know some of you are used to that six week trim but hopefully if you’re following the routine properly, you won’t even feel the need to.

Another thing is actually massaging the products in like the shampoo and serum in as per our instructions above. The massage is not only relaxing but also acts to improve blood flow, which in turn can assist with hair growth.

The verdict?

You’ll definitely notice some serious results with the Resistance Extentioniste range. It has an overall improvement in your hair from inside out - you’ll be able to tell from how little actually breaks off! So yas, it will help you grow your hair but also just if your hair needs some much needed repair and recovery.
